Kosten
De kosten die aan deze opleiding verbonden zijn komen in principe geheel ten laste van de leerling en dienen per kwartaal vooruit betaald te worden. Overige kosten voor de aanschaf van studiemethodes en andere toebehoren (bijvoorbeeld muziekstandaard, trommelstokken, etc.) komen ook voor rekening van de leerling.
Examens
De leerling wordt opgeleid voor het examen A, B, C, en D, volgens het Raamplan HaFaBra-opleidingen. De muziekdocent stelt vast op welk moment de leerling in staat is om het betreffende examen af te leggen. In de voorbereidingsfase van het examen organiseert de muziekvereniging twee of drie theorielessen waarin vooral aandacht wordt besteed aan de luistervaardigheidonderdelen. De verdere theoretische voorbereiding valt onder de verantwoordelijkheid van de leerling waarin hij/zij wordt bijgestaan door de muziekdocent.
Slagwerk
Bij de opleiding tot slagwerker kan een keuze gemaakt worden uit de hoofdopleiding 1 (ongestemd slagwerk) drums, en trommelles, 2 (pauken), 3 (mallets) of een combinatie hiervan. De slagwerkers worden in eerste instantie opgeleid voor de orkestvorm waarbij doorstroming plaatsvindt naar het Jeugdorkest en het fanfare-orkest. Tevens bestaat de intentie om in te toekomst een jeugdslagwerkgroep te vormen.
Algemene muzikale vorming
Tijdens de opleiding wordt met behulp van het gekozen instrument de basis gelegd voor de opleiding (blaas- of slagwerkopleiding) bij de muziekvereniging. Er wordt individueel of in groepjes les gegeven. Gedurende dit traject gaan de leerlingen regelmatig deel nemen aan de repetities van het Jeugdopleidingorkest.
Jeugdopleidingorkest (JOL)
Na het behalen van het diploma-A wordt de leerling gevraagd om in het JOL mee te spelen. Op advies van de muziekdocent kan ervoor gekozen worden om de leerling al eerder in het JOL mee te laten spelen. Het muzikale niveau is aangepast aan deze groep jeugdige muzikanten.
Het JOL repeteert op de dinsdagavond in het Dorpshuis Hanswijk van 19.00-20.00 uur onder leiding van dirigent Michael de Graaf.
Fanfare-orkest
Wanneer de leerling het diploma-B heeft behaald kan hij/zij deel uit gaan maken van het fanfare-orkest. Na een proefperiode van ongeveer één tot twee jaar kan men op advies van de docent, door het bestuur tijdens de jaarlijkse Algemene Ledenvergadering worden voorgedragen als lid. Vanaf dat moment is men contributieplichtig.
Het fanfare-orkest (groot orkest) repeteert op de dinsdagavond in het Dorpshuis Hanswijk van
20.00-22.15 uur onder leiding van dirigent Michael de Graaf.

De vereniging stelt (zoveel mogelijk) een instrument en het examenleerboek (ter voorbereiding op het betreffende examen) ter beschikking aan het aspirant-lid. Dit blijft eigendom van de vereniging. Het aspirant-lid is persoonlijk verantwoordelijk voor de verenigingseigendommen.
